Welcome to Orleans Housing Authority

The Orleans Housing Authority was established in 1969 in order to provide decent, safe and affordable housing for eligible low and moderate income families, elderly and disabled persons. In addition, the Housing Authority continuously pursues the development of additional housing units whenever financial or regulatory opportunities may exist.

The Orleans Housing Authority currently manages 131 units of housing under a variety of state programs. These properties include:

- 100 units of state-aided housing for elderly and handicapped persons

- 11 units of state-aided family housing

- 6 Department of Mental Health vouchers for special needs housing managed by Cape Abilities, Inc.

- 6 Department of Mental Health vouchers for special needs housing managed by Fellowship Health Resources

- 8 vouchers of state-aided housing for disabled individuals managed by Cape Abilities, Inc.

The OHA also administers rental vouchers which can be used at non-OHA rental properties throughout the area including:

- 1 participant in the state-aided Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP) for low income families and individuals. Currently we are not accepting applications for this program

The OHA owns 4 affordable one bedroom apartments at 210 Main Street in East Orleans. The OHA also administers a Section 8 rental assistance program consisting of 6 SRO units for individuals in recovery from substance abuse. These SRO units are owned and managed by the Community Development Partnership in Eastham. Contact the CDP for more information about eligibility requirements.
